Nana’s Easy Brownies

This easy recipe has been in our family for years. It is the most simple way to make brownies  and they always come out delicious.  As I’ve stated in the recipe, oven temps do vary, so you may have to watch them closely the first time you make them to get your temp and time down just right. After everyone tries these, they’ll be a favorite at your house just like they are at mine.  The nuts are always optional, I’ve made them with or without. I’ve even added chocolate chips to them for those who really love chocolate. Of course, I’m speaking of myself.

Nana’s Easy Brownies

  • 2 C sugar
  • 1 1/2 C self-rising flour
  • 1 C cooking oil
  • 5 heaping Tbsp cocoa
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla
  • 1 C chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 325 °. Some oven temps may vary.
Mix all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl.
Spray 9×13 baking baking pan with cooking spray.
Pour batter into pan and cook for 45 minutes.
Batter will still be jiggly when you remove it from the oven.
Let it cool before cutting and serving.  Makes about 24.
