Hot Crackers! Need I say more? These are a great spicy snack for any party, family get-together and just to have when you have the mid-night munchies. There are many varieties too. The original recipe calls for regular saltine crackers. I’m going to give you my version because it has become a hit with everyone who has tried it.
Hot Crackers
- 1 sleeve regular Ritz crackers
- 1 regular bag of Bugles snacks
- 2 C original Cheez-Its
- 2 C regular Chex cereal
- 1 C cooking oil
- 1 pkg Hidden Valley Ranch mix
- 1 Tbsp crushed red peppers
- 1 1/2 Tbsp dried chives
- 1 Tbsp parmesean cheese
- 1 tsp ground red peppers
Put all ingredients in a large bowl with a lid that seals well.
Use your hands and mix all together well, then seal with the lid.
Flip the bowl over every couple of hours. I usually just flip it upside down for a while then right side up the next time I walk through the kitchen.
Do this for a day or so to be sure the oil has coated all the dry pieces.
Open and enjoy!
