Chili is my favorite this time of year. Yesterday was September 1 and the temperature here in Tennessee had dropped at least 10 degrees. That means it’s time for chili! Here’a new recipe I recently tried and then tweaked to my own liking. Hope you enjoy it!
Awesome Chili
1lb ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
Jalapeño, chopped (use how much you like)
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cup water
1 can (27oz) BUSH Chili Beans
1 can (15oz) tomato sauce
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp black pepper
Brown ground beef in large skillet, drain off excess grease. Add chopped onion, celery, garlic and jalapeño. Cook until veggies are tender. Add seasonings, mix together and cook for another minute. Add water, beans and tomato sauce, mix well. Simmer on the stove for a couple of hours or put in crock pot to slow cook for 4 hours on low.
